Collections
A collection is a labelled group of related concepts, declared with
skos:Collection. Membership carries no broader/narrower meaning: a
concept’s place in the hierarchy is independent of the
collections it belongs to. Collections are the usual way to represent facets,
or node labels in a thesaurus.
Each collection’s description says what decides membership, and each is listed
with its members. Collections have URIs in the same namespace as concepts, so
every one of them dereferences on its own.
skos:member has no inverse in SKOS, so the statement lives only on the
collection — which is why a term’s own page and All terms both
repeat it from this side.
- Concept Collection — The languages, standards and artifacts a concept is expressed in, rather than notes about any one concept. Cuts across the hierarchy instead of following it.
10 members: Concept, Cypher, Knowledge Graph, Metadata, OWL, Ontology, RDF, SKOS, Taxonomy, Term
- Day Collection — The Day Cluster’s parts listed flat, together with Day and Day Cluster themselves. It enumerates by hand what the hierarchy already derives, and the two have drifted: 26 members against 25 concepts under Day Cluster, with DayMeeting present in the tree and absent here. Where they disagree the hierarchy is authoritative.
26 members: Day, Day Actions, Day Analysis, Day Base, Day Board, Day Canvas, Day Cluster, Day Cluster Core, Day Cluster Health, Day Cluster Support, Day Cluster Visual, Day Diabetes, Day Diabetes Analysis, Day Diagram, Day Drawing, Day Health, Day Index, Day Journal, Day Links, Day Log, Day Meal Plan, Day Mindmap, Day Plan, Day Review, Day Schedule, Day View
- Decade Collection — Decade alone. No decade notes are generated and no narrower concepts exist, so this records an intention rather than a grouping.
1 member: Decade
- Effort Collection — The effort vocabulary rather than one effort’s notes: the kinds of effort, the cluster that holds an effort’s notes, and the folder they live in. It holds no member of any Effort Cluster, which is why it does not resemble the period collections.
5 members: Area, Effort Cluster, Efforts Folder, Interest, Project
- Ideaverse Collection — The vault as a whole and the notes inside it. Two members naming the container rather than its contents, which is a different job from every other collection here.
2 members: Obsidian Notes, Vault
- Knowledge Collection — What knowledge itself is called here, as distinct from the containers that hold it: Knowledge, the Concept and Topic it is expressed as, and the Knowledge Graph it is stored in. Cuts across the hierarchy instead of following it.
4 members: Concept, Knowledge, Knowledge Graph, Topic
- Life Collection — Life alone, the top time horizon. No narrower concepts exist, so this records an intention rather than a grouping.
1 member: Life
- Meal Domain — Every concept in the meal-planning domain, across both the Meal and the Recipe side: the occasion, the meal kinds, the plans at each horizon, and the parts a recipe is assembled from. Wider than any one meal plan.
16 members: Breakfast, DMP Meal Plan, Day Meal Plan, Dinner, Ingredient, Lunch, Meal, Meal Plan, Nutrition, PTE Meal Plan, Recipe Images, Recipe Servings, Recipe Source, Recipe Time, Snack, Week Meal Plan
- Month Collection — Month and four of the five parts of a Month Cluster, listed flat. It enumerates by hand what the hierarchy already derives and is incomplete against it; where the two disagree the hierarchy under Month Cluster is authoritative.
5 members: Month, Month Journal, Month Log, Month Plan, Month Review
- Note Types — The concepts used as note types in the vault.
20 members: Action, App, Area, Clipping, Concept, Draft, Focus, Idea, Interest, Meal, Meal Plan, Project, Python Template, Recipe, Restaurant, Script, Shortcut, Spark, Term, Vault
- Quarter Collection — Quarter, the Quarter Cluster and three of its five parts, listed flat. Two parts are absent and one member belongs to the month rather than the quarter, which is the copy this collection was made from showing through. The hierarchy under Quarter Cluster is authoritative.
6 members: Month Journal, Quarter, Quarter Cluster, Quarter Log, Quarter Plan, Quarter Review
- Recipe Collection — Recipe and its six parts listed flat: the ingredients, nutrition, timings, servings, source and images a recipe is assembled from. It enumerates by hand what the hierarchy already derives, and currently matches it exactly.
7 members: Ingredient, Nutrition, Recipe, Recipe Images, Recipe Servings, Recipe Source, Recipe Time
- Semantic Web Standards — Standards and knowledge organization artifacts underlying this vocabulary: SKOS, RDF, and OWL alongside term, taxonomy, ontology, and knowledge graph.
11 members: ISO Standard, Knowledge Graph, Metadata, OWL, Ontology, RDF, SKOS, Standard, Taxonomy, Term, W3C Standard
- Spark Collection — Idea and Spark, the two concepts for something newly noticed and not yet developed. Two members, and no narrower concepts beneath either, so the grouping is not yet doing work.
2 members: Idea, Spark
- Tech Stack — The languages, frameworks, and tools used to build and run the PKM system outside Obsidian: Python, Swift, Neo4j, Cypher, and Apple Shortcuts.
10 members: Cypher, FastAPI, Hummingbird, Neo4j, Python, Script, Shortcut, Siri, Swift, Tool
- Time Collection — Time and the Time Cluster, and nothing else. Two members against the fifty-five concepts under Time Cluster, so this is a decision half-made rather than a facet.
2 members: Time, Time Cluster
- Week Collection — The ten parts of a Week Cluster listed flat, together with Week itself. It enumerates by hand what the hierarchy already derives; where the two disagree the hierarchy under Week Cluster is authoritative.
11 members: Week, Week Analysis, Week Diabetes, Week Diabetes Analysis, Week Health, Week Index, Week Journal, Week Log, Week Meal Plan, Week Plan, Week Review
- Year Collection — Year, the Year Cluster and all five of its parts, listed flat. It enumerates by hand what the hierarchy already derives; where the two disagree the hierarchy under Year Cluster is authoritative.
7 members: Year, Year Cluster, Year Health, Year Journal, Year Log, Year Plan, Year Review
